17 student teams who have passed the university-level selection for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) 5 Fields for 2021/2022. PKM is a fairly prestigious program that aims to hone creativity and as a venue for students to show off their abilities. The implementation of PKM continues to be evaluated and developed according to the dynamics of the times. Initially the PKM consisted of PKM 5 fields and PKM-KT (Writing Work) then PKM-GFK was added. The PKM 5 fields themselves consist of PKM-P (Research), PKM-K (Entrepreneurship), PKM-T (Technology), PKM-M (Community Service), and PKM-KC (Karsa Cipta). PKM 2021 has changed several PKM names, namely PKM-P to PKM-R (Research), PKM-M to PKM-PM, PKM-T to PKM-PI (Ipplication of Science and Technology). The estuary of PKM is PIMNAS (National Student Science Week) where students from different universities compete with each other to be the best.
UMS also actively carried out PKM, even UMS was included in cluster 1. Before PKM was uploaded on Simbelmawa owned by the Director General of Higher Education, the UMS campus carried out an internal selection. As a result of the internal selection, 14 PKM proposals from Geography Education students passed the university level and will then be uploaded to the Simbelmawa system. This achievement is a positive note at the beginning of 2022. For students, experience in PKM is an added value because the selection is competitive and is always a benchmark for student success in academic activity. On a national scale, PKM already has its own community and prestige, especially if it passes to PIMNAS. PKM is organized by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia in facilitating the potential of Indonesian students to study, develop and apply knowledge and innovation.
