About Us
History
Muhammadiyah Surakarta University (UMS) is a Higher Education institution under the Muhammadiyah Association. UMS was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0330/O/1981 dated October 24, 1981 as a change in form from IKIP Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Prior to becoming UMS, UMS institutionally came from Accounting Education FKIP Muhammadiyah University Jakarta Surakarta Branch which was established in 1957. The pioneers included Mrs. Sudalmiyah Suhud Rais, Mr. Radjab Bulan Hadipurnomo, Mr. Muhammad Syafa’at Habib, Mrs. Sulastri Gito Atmodjo and KH. Syahlan Rosyidi.

In 2029 the Accounting Education Study Program FKIP UMS will become a superior and nationally competitive study program to produce professional educators with Islamic personalities with global insight and entrepreneurial spirit.
